The next talk in Cordilleran Section's once-a-month Exploration Breakfast Series – a series designed to promote discussion of early stage Cordilleran exploration projects, to provide a professional networking opportunity, as well as to focus dialogue and encourage idea exchange – will be on Amarc Resources' Newton Gold Property and Plateau Gold-Copper Belt and will be presented by Mark Rebagliati of Amarc Resources Ltd, on Tuesday May 4th, 2010 . To attend this talk please pre-register no later than April 29th by email to: morning_talks@gac-cs.ca

The talks are intended to provide geologists and companies with the opportunity to showcase projects and/or exploration ideas, with a focus on geological concepts, mineral deposit models or exploration technology that can be tested in an informal, interactive environment. Setting and presentations will be informal. These talks will be of interest to all geologists working in the Canadian Cordillera as well as investment analysts who follow junior companies

A continental style breakfast will be provided. Meetings will take about an hour.

Anyone wishing to make a presentation should contact the Cordilleran Section by email at: morning_talks@gac-cs.ca.

Mark April 27th in your calendar. The GAC-Cordilleran Section invites you to its second annual Cordilleran Metallogeny Workshop. This year's theme is Porphyry Settings. With a focus on British Columbia and Yukon , we will look beyond the pit limits and examine the tectonic settings and broader geological controls of Cordilleran porphyry deposits.

Post-workshop Porphyry Field Trip

April 28 and 29, 2010

On April 28, we will visit Copper Mountain in the morning and Highland Valley in the afternoon, ending up overnighting in Kamloops . On April 29, we will tour Abacus' Afton- Ajax Project . In the afternoon, representatives of Imperial Metals (Mt. Polley), Serengeti Resources (Kwanika) and possibly other active northern BC porphyry projects, will provide core shack displays and geological discussions prior to our return to Vancouver .
